Background

This is the production company of David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee.

(April 19, 1990-May 13, 2004)

Logo: On a green marble background, we see a green plaque with a yellow border that contains blue blocks with the words "GRUB♦STREET" (in a font resembling Copperplate Gothic), which are each separated by the bars of the border. The "G" and the last "T", as well as their blocks, are much bigger than the rest of the letters and blocks. Under it is "P R O D U C T I O N S" (in Futura), spaced to fit the width of the logo. Below the logo is the words "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" (in Bauhaus Thin). A spotlight shines from left to right on the logo and the surrounding area.

Variants:

  • Until 1992, the logo was still.
  • On the pilot of Wings, the "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" text is in the same font as "PRODUCTIONS".
  • On the Frasier episode "Space Quest", the "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" text is omitted.
  • In 2002, the logo was graphically enhanced by having cleaner letters and a new marble background that is darker and much less messy-looking. This can be seen on the last two seasons of Frasier as well as remastered prints of the season 7 episode "The Fight Before Christmas".
  • A rare variant was spotted on the 1994 prototype reel of NBC's split-screen credits (known as "NBC 2000"); During the Frasier[1] and Wings[2] demos, a modified version of the logo is inside of the credits. The logo is much smaller (with the background filling the entire frame) with the show's logo and "PRODUCED FOR NBC BY..." above and "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" below.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show until 1994, otherwise silent. NBC used generic music beginning in 1994.

Availability: Uncommon. Currently seen on Frasier on Lifetime, Hallmark and COZI TV since 2017 and Wings on USA and Antenna TV since 2017. Both shows are available on DVD.
