Background
HP NewWave was an alternate desktop shell for Windows 3.1.
Logo (1992-1993)
Visuals: Over a gray background, there is a silver Hewlett-Packard logo with a silver sans-serif "HEWLETT PACKARD" in stacked format. Below it is a beveled rectangle containing a nested blue rectangle. "NewWave" in silver/blue, sans-serif, italic format is at the front of the bevel rectangle with a shadow casting to the bottom-right and a white thin "Working Model" with a shadow casted below is below it. In front of it, is a pixel art of a wave at the bottom-right. Below it is the copyright information in white with black shadow.
Technique: A still sprite-based graphic.
Audio:
- Startup: A synthesized "TADA!" sound
- Shutdown: Descending chimes from Microsoft Windows 3.1
Availability: Seen on most models of the NewWave.
