Background

Henson Alternative is a production and distribution brand of The Jim Henson Company. Productions under this banner feature more mature themes and content than those traditionally associated with the parent company.

1st Logo (2008?-March 17, 2016, October 12, 2018)

Visuals: On a black background, the letter "h" drops down and lands in the center, followed by the letter "a" and a red exclamation mark, but without its dot. The red dot then zooms out and lands below the mark, followed by the text "HENSON ALTERNATIVE" below the logo. The end result resembles the logo of Henson Associates (a former name of The Jim Henson Company).

Variant: On The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell, a still version is used.

Technique: 2D animation or none.

Audio: None or the closing theme, accompanied by sound effects of the letters landing.

Availability: Seen on Henson Alternative videos on the Jim Henson Company YouTube channel, Alt/Reality, Neil's Puppet Dreams and No, You Shut Up!. Also seen on The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell.

2nd Logo (August 24, 2018)

Visuals: On a black background, a big ball of brown fur with two big eyebrows, gold eyes and a mouth falls down. The ball gets angry and explodes into the Henson Alternative logo, recolored in fuchsia, leaving a few hairs floating around the screen. The letters of "ha!" are misaligned.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie ("Good Day" by Nappy Roots), along with some sound effects.

Availability: Seen only on The Happytime Murders.
