Background

The Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc., headquartered in Saga and Tokyo, is a Japanese multinational pharmaceutical corporation that develops and markets prescription and over-the-counter drug (OTC) products, especially external pain relieving products such as the transdermal patch. Hisamitsu has specialized in "transdermal drug delivery system" technology (TDDS) since the introduction of its original line of patches in 1903.

1st Logo (1989)

Logo: On a white background, we see a bicolored rectangle, colored blue on the top and green on the bottom. A square splits away from the rectangle, then the rectangle wipes out from left to right. As this happens, "HISAMITSU" emerges from the center of the screen, with the blue and green square being behind the letter "H". On later commercials, "久光製薬" is seen below the logo.

FX/SFX: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A female choir singing the company's name. A synth bell theme is softly heard in the background.

Availability: Seen on their commercials at the time.

2nd Logo (1990-1995)

Logo: On a white background, we see a green horizontal rectangle with "久光製薬" below it. A square splits away from the rectangle and spins, as the rectangle wipes out from left to right. As the rectangle wipes out, "HISAMITSU" pops up letter-by-letter, with the line in the letter "H" being the spinning green square. After the rectangle wipes out, the square stops spinning.

FX/SFX: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on their commercials at the time.

3rd Logo (1995-2003)

Logo: On a white background, "久光製薬" is seen. Then, three blue rectangles fly to the left of the screen with a green glow. The syllables "Hi", "sa", "mi", and "tsu" pop up one by one, each syllable accompanied by a green glow which quickly fades out.

FX/SFX: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as the first logo.

Availability: Seen on commercials of the era.

4th Logo (June 2003- )

Logo: We see a blue infinity sign that drops down on a white background. The infinity then turns into a bunch of lines that spread form an H letter, Making the words "Hisamitsu" appear.

Later Variant: In the late 2000s, the logo got an update with now being widescreen and in HD

Music/Sounds: Same as the first logo.

Music/Sounds Variant: In the later years, the bell theme is replace with a more synth theme.
