Background

Homer Productions, Inc. was an independent company that, with Ziv Television Programs, produced the short-lived series called Home Run Derby.

(January 9-July 2, 1960)

Logo: Against a shot of a baseball field, the text "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" is seen at the top of the screen, and "HOMER PRODUCTIONS, INC." (with "HOMER" being the biggest word) is in the middle of the screen. Four bases (home, first, second, and third) appear around the "HOMER PRODUCTIONS, INC." text, and then four lines appear connecting home to first, first to second, second to third, and third back to home (just as if a home run were hit). A small icon of two crossed baseball bats then appears above "HOMER" to complete the logo.

Variant: On the first episode of the show, the text reads "IN ASSOCIATION WITH HOMER PRODUCTIONS" in the font of the closing credits, and there was no diamond around it.

FX/SFX: The baseball diamond appearing around "HOMER PRODUCTIONS, INC.," and being drawn as if a home run were hit.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of Home Run Derby.

Availability: Common. Currently appears on Home Run Derby on Hulu.com, and also on ESPN Classic reruns and the DVD releases of the show.

Legacy: None.
