Background

This was Frank Mancuso Jr.'s production company. Mancuso later went on to run 360 Pictures.

1st Logo (October 3, 1987-July 30, 1988)

Visuals: On a white background is a silver-outlined blue sign at an angle. On the sign is the words in silver lettering:

HOMETOWN
F I L M S

Technique: A still image.

Audio: The closing theme.

Availability: Seen on the first season of Friday the 13th: The Series.

2nd Logo (September 30, 1988-June 17, 1989)

Visuals: There is the same sign from the previous logo, but with a city, a church, and even some houses. The sign then "flashes". Two lights in the left house are also shown turning on.

Technique: Appears to be a combo of model work and computer animation.

Audio:

  • Episode 1: The closing theme plays.
  • Rest of the season: A soft 9-note clarinet/piano tune, with some dinging chimes at the end.

Availability: Seen on the second season of Friday the 13th: The Series.

3rd Logo (October 7, 1989-May 26, 1990)

Visuals: There is a video of a city, with a sign. The camera pans to the sign, which is revealed to be the Hometown Films sign, done in CGI, and with the text in a thinner font. The sign is straightened here.

Technique: A combo of live-action and CGI.

Audio:

  • Episodes 1-8 of season 3 of Friday the 13th: The Series and season 2 of the War of the Worlds TV series: Same as the last logo.
  • Episodes 9 and 10 of season 3 of Friday the 13th: The Series: A 4-note harmonica theme, then two clarinet notes alongside a synth pad.
  • Rest of season 3 of Friday the 13th: The Series: Same as the second theme, but lower in pitch.

Availability: Seen on the third and final season of Friday the 13th: The Series and the second season of the 1988 War of the Worlds TV series.
