Background

Hong Kong Man Wah Film Company was a film company from Hong Kong.

1st Logo (April 28, 1983)

Visuals: Over a black background, the green triangle with rounded bases with a bit of an extended part below starts forming. A yellow "MW" writes itself below it. The red Chinese company name and "HONG KONG MAN WAH FILM CO." below it fades in at the bottom of it.

Technique: All done with cel animation.

Audio: "Contact" by Johnny Pearson from the KPM Library.

2nd Logo (1988)

Visuals: An abstract "MW" draws in red over a black background. Then it suddenly flashes which emits "lights" to border the aforementioned "MW". Three reels, one red, one green and one blue, appear at the same time in order from width to narrow. To finish the logo, the texts in Chinese in yellow and the English one which is blue appear in order slowly. It stays still until the screen fades to the movie.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: Same as the last logo, but pitched down -1 semitone and the music itself made brief.
