Background

Hui's Film Production is a Hong Kong film company founded in 1974 by the well-known Hui brothers, specifically Michael Hui. The company produced its first 7 films under Golden Harvest, which they became independent from in the late '80s. Their technical first logo was a print logo, only seen on print and poster advertisements of their first films. It consists of an "H" holding up half of a film roll, with Red, Green, and Yellow circles inside.

1st Logo (1986-1988)

TBA

2nd Logo (1988-199?)

Logo: On a black/blue gradient background, two parallel golden sparkling lines streak in from the left and right sides of the screen, and disappear as the outline of the "H" from the previous logo (along with the filmstrip holes), set in gold, fades in. The "H" fills with a gold/white/sky blue, chrome-like texture as well as the filmstrip holes appearing uncolored on the left side. The "H" shines twice. On the second time, the text "Hui's Film Production Co. Ltd." in a light blue Arial font appears below it, along with its Chinese translation in yellow a second later. The "H" gets overloaded with sparkles before they disappear.

Technique: Scanimate animation.

Music/Sounds: First, we hear a whoosh, followed by a faint synth arpeggio along with a 7-note synth horn fanfare. After this, three chime notes play along with faint sparkling noises.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on Chicken and Duck Talk. It might be seen on some other films from the company.
