Background

IFC Midnight is a label of IFC Films that largely releases the company's horror and thriller output, although the company occasionally releases films outside of those genres.

1st Logo (2010s-2020)

Visuals: On a black background, the 2001 IFC logo appears letter-by-letter. While that happens, a close up of the letters appears for a split second along with a grainy texture background. The word "MIDNIGHT" fades in below the logo. A red line on the right continuously flashes throughout.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A film projector sound along with a 3 note tune that sounds eerie.

Availability: Seen on the division's films of the time, including the 2016 remake of Cabin Fever.

2nd Logo (2020-)

Visuals: Same as the 2020 IFC Films logo, but the entire logo is red, and "Films" is replaced with "Midnight". A drop of blood runs from the M. At the end of the logo, it jitters.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on current films from the division, such as Hatching.
