Background

IFD Films and Arts Limited is a company from Hong Kong, founded in 1973 by Joseph Lai, which specializes in B-movies, especially the movies of Godfrey Ho.

1st Logo (Mid 1980s)

Visuals: On the top of a cliff, there is a woman in white pants and top, with a long white veil on her head, holding a torch with a bright light at the end. The sky is very dark. The camera zooms in and the words:

IFD Films and Arts Limited

presents
a Joseph Lai release

slide in from the bottom, and the last line slides in from the left.

Trivia: The footage from this logo comes from the 1982 film Pink Force Commando.

Technique: Live-action and camera-controlled animation.

Audio: The music is directly taken from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (from the part when the Devastator, Darth Vader's Star Destroyer, first appears), with the end cut off and replaced with some different fanfare, closed by some drums.

Availability: Mostly seen on movies made by Godfrey Ho. It's preserved on Ninja the Protector and Ninja of the Magnificence.

2nd Logo (1980s-2000s?)

Visuals: On an animated black background with a bokeh effect, the words:

IFD Films and Arts Limited

presents

a Joseph Lai release

fade in with the company name in Chinese below it. After a while, the text fades out, ending off with the bokeh background.

Technique: Motion-controlled animation.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: It can be found on copies of Space Thunder Kids, Beauty & Warrior, and Ali Baba and the Gold Raiders.
