Background

Ideal World Productions was a television production company initially founded as Gallus Besom before renaming to its current name. In 2004, the company merged with Wark Clements to form IWC Media.



1st Logo (1994-1998)

Visuals: Against a wall with no lighting, a steel plate with a long thread through it flips over a few times with brief electricity sparking, eventually scrolling downward. Suddenly, a light bulb emerges and flashes a purple light while the plate simultaneously flashes a white glow, revealing the text "idealworld". The light bulb quickly stops flashing and remains visible.

Variants:

  • On Wild Harvest with Nick Nairn, this logo shares the screen with the 1988 BBC Scotland logo, and the copyright notice reading "© BBC (in its 1988 print logo) MCMXCVII" appears below.
  • On Coltrane's Places and Automobiles, the text reads "AN IDEAL WORLD PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR TELEVISION" with the copyright notice reading "© CHANNEL FOUR TELEVISION CORPORATION (year)" which appears below.
