Background
Ikon was the video sublabel of Factory Records (Factory Communications Limited) which was founded in June 1980 to film the label's bands (including some artists who were never on Factory such as The Fall and The Birthday Party, but performed at Factory's nightclub, The Haçienda) for potential broadcasting. They begin to release videos in November 1981. The company became independent in 1989 and was shut down in 1992 at the same year Factory Records did.
(November 1981-1994?)
