Visuals: On a black background, a blue oblong shape, resembling a pair of sunglasses, slides in from the left of the screen. Upon getting to the opposite side, the shape tilts down as the background brightens and the shape gets encased in a blue box. The shape resembles a bird taking off, but also looks like a fruit. Beneath the frame is the word "ILLUSION" in a stylized font.
Technique: 2D animation.
Audio: None or the opening/closing theme of the film.
Availability: Appeared at the start of Freeway, the end of Nixon and U-Turn, and the documentary The Last Days of Kennedy and King.
