1st Logo (October 31, 1978)
Logo: On a black background, a stylized, striped "IP" with a golden ring and two shooting stars spinning around it zoom out to reveal "INTER PLANETARY PICTURES, INC".
FX/SFX: 2D animation.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the movie.
Availability: Very rare, its only known appearance was on Stranger in Our House. However, it was plastered by the Keller Entertainment logo on Tubi and blacked out on The Roku Channel's print.
2nd Logo (February 8, 1981-May 16, 1987)
Logo: On a black background, a trail of bright blue pieces jump from the far center and zoom closer to the screen and into the bottom portion in which they form the same stylized letters from before, lighting up and showing it with a metallic texture. Then, a light flies from the top left and swirls around the logo five times while two transparent blue rings with a glow effect fade in. After the fifth spin, the star flies to the bottom and reveals the fading, chrome text
PICTURES, INC.
The shininess on the logo as well as its orbit continues to move before the screen fades to black.
Variants:
- A closing variant starts with the symbol already formed and the star spinning four times instead of five. "PICTURES, INC." is also replaced with "PRODUCTIONS CORP.".
- A widescreen variant exists.
- On Voyage of the Rock Aliens, the logo is set on a still space background, the symbol and text are in a chrome texture, and the latter has been reworded to read "INTER PLANETARY CURB".
- The logo was cropped to widescreen on Vinegar Syndrome's release of Voyage of the Rock Aliens.
- On Kent State, a space background was added although different than the one used by the top variant.
FX/SFX: The pieces and star flying and the text fading in.
Music/Sounds: The opening/closing of the movie. None for the opening variant.
Availability: Rare. Debuted on Kent State and made its last appearance on Conspiracy: The Trial of the Chicago 8. On-demand prints such as Tubi's have kept this logo on aforementioned films as well as Grambling's White Tiger. The opening variant was seen on Now and Forever, Voyage of the Rock Aliens, and Women of Valor. On-demand prints preserve this logo on both movies as well as Vinegar Syndrome's release on the latter.
