Background

Internet Lurker is a former American YouTube channel, founded on August 9, 2006, that uploaded archived retro television clips, particularly old television commercials. Since 2015, the channel has been inactive.

1st Logo (June 10, 2007-June 16, 2009)

Visuals: On a black background is Marguerite Perrin (the 'God Warrior' lady from Trading Spouses) on the right side of the screen, with her eyes closed. As she opens them, her mouth opens as well, causing the channel's web address, in the Lithos font, in an arched shape and colored white, to fly out of her mouth and place itself beside her. After this happens, Perrin slightly closes her mouth.

Variants:

  • The logo was later updated to feature Perrin with her eyes open throughout.
  • Another alternate version of the logo exists with higher resolution and a faster frame rate.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A low-pitched screeching noise to accompany the opening of Perrin's mouth.

Availability: Seen at the end of all Internet Lurker videos between June 10, 2007 and June 16, 2009. Examples include "Kentucky Fried Chicken Student Teacher commercial", "Pert for Kids commercial" and "John Kerry attack ad on James rappaport for the Senate".

2nd Logo (June 16, 2009-February 9, 2015)

Visuals: Similar to the 1973 CBS Special Presentation logo, but the word "SPECIAL" is replaced with "LURKER", and when "LURKER" zooms back out, the word "AN INTERNET" appears above in place of "A CBS", while "PRESENTATION" remains below the center text. The channel's web address appears below in neon pink as well.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The same music as the 1973 CBS Special Presentation logo.

Availability: Appeared at the end of all Internet Lurker videos from June 16, 2009 until the channel went inactive. Examples include "Delta Airlines Commercial", "Television Academy Commercial for Sick kids", "McDonald's Commercial with Babies" and "Raytheon commercial".
