Background
Italian International Film is an Italian film production and distribution studio founded in 1958 by Italian film producer Fulvio Lucisano.
1st Logo (1980-1995?)
The video of this logo may be too loud or severely distorted. |
Logo: On a blue background, a light orange/light green filmstrip moves to the left. We then zoom into the holes, then two outlined circles come and zoom out at the top of two of these holes, making the part below fill in orange and the dots appear at the top, forming the IIF logo. The filmstrip fades out and the logo turns 3D. A metallic stripe then wipes in below the logo and goes behind after going to the right, then appears again at the front, turns to the right again, with the words "ITALIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM", and then turns again and stops. "presenta" fades in below the stripe.
Technique: Cel animation.
Music/Sounds: An avant-garde electronic score, similar to a pinball machine, or silent.
Availability: Very rare. You should find it in Italian films from the time such as Ricomincio da tre.
2nd Logo (1995-2000s)
Logo: A lens flare appears from below and moves to the center. Then a brown filmstrip suddenly comes out and moves to the flare and leans to the right. Part of the filmstrip then appears from the right side, facing the camera, and then zooms in more so the center of the screen is focused on its holes. The IIF logo wipes in from the filmstrip's holes, without the dots of the I's. The filmstrip fades out, and the logo zooms in as the dots zoom out and the logo slightly rotates and moves back, as the same filmstrip appears from below, moving to the right, and the background changes to an aquatic one, and the filmstrip wipes in "ITALIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM". Then "FULVIO LUCISANO" (the producer of most of the movies of the period) and "PRESENTA", in blue, wipe in below the main name.
Technique: CGI.
Music/Sounds: A calming synth pad and arpeggio which then changes into a triumphant synth fanfare.
Availability: Seen on modern print of films they've previously produced, such as Mi Faccia Causa, and Il Magnate.
3rd Logo (2011-2016)
Logo: Set on a waving teal fabric-like background, a white wisp with a golden glow flies in from the top, and forms the IIF logo emitting a bright glow. The glow then dissipates when the wisp disappears, as the logo turns into 3D. A golden frame suddenly flies in and surrounds the IIF, flipping twice vertically as the text "54° ANNIVERSARIO" also flies in and places itself within the lower half of the frame, as the texts and frame start to emit a faint burst effect. Once they all become still, various golden wisps below the IIF move around to form the company name "ITALIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM". It stays static for a few seconds before all the elements fly towards the screen one-by-one.
Technique: CGI animation.
Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logo.
Availability: Was used as an anniversary variant celebrating 54 years. So far spotted on Viva l'Italia, and their other films during the logo's timespan.
