Background

Television Osaka, Inc. (TVO, callsign JOBH-DTV) is a Japanese television station serving as an affiliate of the TV Tokyo-run TX Network for the the Osaka prefecture. The station signed on March 1, 1982 as the last prefectural UHF television station to sign-on in the Kansai region.

1st ID (March 1, 1982-September 30, 2000)


Visuals: There is a shot of the city of Osaka during daytime. Then, a grid of buildings rises from it as the background transitions to navy blue. After traversing throughout the buildings, the diagram later turns upside down as a hole of the city during nighttime can be seen. After that, the TVO channel 19 symbol appears from both sides as it snaps together while the 1982 TVO symbol, consisting of the words TVO with the word "TV" being in blue and the O being in white with a red box with the "テレビ大坂" text in a futuristic script, appearing from the right alongside its callsign "JOBH-TV" atop of it.

Technique: A mix of CGI with live-action footage.

Audio: A bombastic audio-synth fanfare accompanied with an announcer.

2nd ID (October 1, 2000-September 30, 2002)

Visuals:

  • Startup: There is a peach-colored window door that later opens to reveal a blue background with a leaflet. After rinsing some water, the leaflet later grows to reveal a gourd with a face on it. After more water is rinsed, the gourd later travels to the sky via a beanstalk and as the gourd arrives, he is surrounded by multiple other colored gourds. The group then later walk above a rainbow. As the gourds walk away, the callsign "JOBH-TV" and the 1997 TVO wordmark, consisting of the word "テレビ大阪" in cubic, both in white on the bottom right.
  • Closedown: After the gourd grows into a beanstalk and the group arrive at the clouds, they walk above a rainbow to a wooden arch door with a white sign that reads "JOBH-TV" with the 1997 TVO wordmark at the bottom in black before fading to black.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A gentle and upbeat guitar theme.

3rd ID (Analog, October 1, 2002-July 24, 2011)

  • Startup: On a white background, there is Takoru-kun sleeping in his bed until a bubble bursts, prompting him to wake up. He later gets up, looks at the sky and greets a bird. The bird later enters his room and later flies off. Takoru later yawns as he plans to take a nap and while Takoru sleeps, a bubble appears which turns bigger. After that, the "JOBH-TV" callsign and the 1997 TVO wordmark located at the bottom appear from the middle of the bubble. After that, Takoru opens his eyes and wakes up to start the day.
  • Closedown: On a white background, there is Takoru-kun as he gets ready for sleep. After walking to the left, he turns to the right and later yawns. Takoru later turns his light off and proceeds to sleep. Then, the bubble appears with the "JOBH-TV" callsigns and the 1997 TVO wordmark at the bottom of the bubble before fading to black.

Variant: From December 1, 2003 (coinciding with the debut of its digital telecasts), the TVO wordmark was changed to match the one used from that year onwards.

  • Startup: An upbeat fanfare with a choir, which is Suteki ni Wake Up!, from the Studio Com Music Library.
  • Closedown: A nighttime music box twilight fanfare, which is Music Box, also from the Studio Com Music Library.

4th ID (Digital, December 1, 2003-October 2, 2016)


Visuals:

  • Startup: On a desert-like background, the 2003 TVO symbol appears in gold. After that a white light appears which transitions into a wormhole which later fades to the TVO wordmark in both English and Japanese. After that, multiple variations of the wordmark can be seen until later transitioning into seven television sets with the TVO logo in them as they flash in multiple directions. After that, the 2003 TVO logo appears on a white background consisting of a red circle with a number 7 in blue on it and the words "テレビ大阪" and "JOBH-DTV" with the top wordmark being in sharp and cubic on the bottom as it briefly flashes once.
  • Closedown: The television sets from the opening zoom in before transitioning into the blue background with the 2003 TVO symbols and into the wormhole. After that, the TVO symbol in gold appears from a nighttime background surrounded by some searchlights before later transitioning into the 2003 TVO logo with the callsign at the bottom before fading to black.

Audio: A gentle and deep twilight synth theme.

5th ID (October 3, 2016-)


Visuals:

  • Startup: On a white background, there is Warutakoru-kun and Warutakobee as they sleep in their room. After their bubbles burst out, they wake up and later look at the calendar and write the number "7" (the number of pranks the duo would pull during their day) on it before walking to the right to get their stuff to start the day. A striped purple and blue box later pops out of the cardboard box revealing a white sign with the callsign "JOBH-DTV" and the 2003 TVO wordmark with the symbol on the left in black with Warutakoru atop of it.
  • Closedown: On a white background, Warutakoru-kun and Warutakobee come back from their day while the former writes the number "7" (the number of pranks the duo pulled during the day). The duo later giggle and start to yawn and go to their beds. Warutakoru switches the bed light off turning the background into blue while they start sleeping. A bubble comes out, growing to reveal the callsign "JOBH-DTV" and the 2003 "TV Osaka" wordmark with the symbol on the left in black similar to the 3rd ident.

Technique: Digital traditional animation.

Audio: A cheerful and playful xylophone theme.

Audio Variant: The closedown ident has a gentle and softer arrangement of the startup ident.
