Background

Shizuoka Daiichi Television Corporation (SDT, branded as Daiichi TV, callsign JOSX-DTV) is a Japanese television station that serves as an affiliate of the Nippon Television-run Nippon News Network and Nippon Television Network System for Shizuoka Prefecture, based in Shizuoka. The station signed on July 1, 1979 as the third (and last) commercial broadcaster in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Variant: Around 2011, the analog callsign was omitted and the callsign now displays "JOSX-DTV" in bold with the 1979 SDT Japanese wordmark added at the bottom. The transmitter shot used on the opening was also omitted with the headquarters shot being used on both opening and closing idents, while the opening ident adds a message stating that SDT's broadcast day is about to start.

Technique: Traditional cel animation by Kobayashi Yutaka, Matsuda Koji and Nakamura Yasutoshi with live-action footage being added starting in 2005.

Audio: A gentle orchestrated theme composed by Otsuki Hiroshi with upbeat & gentle music being added to the startup and soft & upbeat music being added to the closedown starting in 2005.

2nd ID (January 1, 2016-March 31, 2017)


Visuals: There is footage of people sailing and doing a rescue as the words "あなたの"次"は何ですか?" appear before fading into an interview with a rescuer before fading to another man before fading into footage of a child farmer before fading into more footage as the words "一人ひとりのNEXTが未来を変える。" appear before fading into a mosaic of people and then into the then-newly introduced 2016 Daiichi TV symbol, consisting on a green and black ribbon with the words "Daiichi" and "TV" in both black and white with the tagline on the bottom as the camera fades to footage of the station's team as the camera fades to a man touching and orb with the words "NEXT 報道" on the right followed by footage of their studios and later, a woman touching a golden orb with the words "NEXT 番組" on the right, before fading into more footage from their studios before fading into another woman holding an orb with the words "NEXT 創造的プラットフォーム" before fading into a group of people carrying the same orb which fades to yellow and later into a skyline of Shizuoka with the words "希望をワクワクへと変えていこう" appearing in white before fading into a phone on a black background which zooms in to reveal the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol.

Technique: A mix of live-action footage, CGI and digital traditional animation.

Audio: An upbeat piano theme with some choirs.

  • Startup: On a sunrise in a port in Shizuoka with some seagulls, the words "Good morning" appear before fading to a shark swimming underwater and then into some shots of Shizuoka during daytime before fading to the Tomei Expressway where a shooting sparkling star appears as the 2016 Daiichi TV logo appears before fading out to more shots of a forest before transitioning into another shot where the Daiichi TV symbol forms itself before the background changes to white.
  • Closedown: On a shot of Shizuoka, there is the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol before fading into a shot of Mt. Fuji as the logo fades out and the camera fades to some shots during nighttime such as the Tomei Expressway, a sun setting and a forest. After that, the words "Good night" appear before fading into a green background as the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol forms itself before the background turns to white.

Technique: A mix of CGI and live-action footage.

Audio:

  • Startup: An upbeat theme, followed by a guitar and piano theme.
  • Closedown: An upbeat theme, followed by a gentle guitar theme.

Fuji before a green light appears which turns into the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol before disappearing to reveal some shots of Shizuoka, followed by a shot of their then-new headquarters in Sugura-ku. The camera then fades into multiple shots of the complex before fading into a river as the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol appears on a grass background.
  • Closedown: On a shot of a farm in Shizuoka, there is the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol as it fades in from the left as it turns to the right before later fading into the river shot from the opening before fading to a shot of their headquarters as the camera then fades into multiple shots of it from the inside. After that, the camera fades into the headquarters but at nighttime as some sparks appear from their transmitter as the words "good night" appear sliding from the left before the 2016 Daiichi TV logo later appears as the camera fades to one final shot of their headquarters.

Variant: For their 45th anniversary in 2024, the startup was changed with the words "JOSX-DTV, FROM SHIZUOKA, JAPAN" as well as Daiichi TV's 45th anniversary logo, consisting of the 2016 Daiichi TV symbol with the letters "45th" on the right appearing at the bottom on the opening, while the closing has the Daiichi TV 45th anniversary logo appearing from the left with the words "JOSX-DTV, FROM SHIZUOKA, JAPAN" appearing at the bottom.
