Background

Java Industrial Film was the film production company of The Teng Chun, a Chinese-Indonesian film producer. The company closed in 1942 during the Japanese occupation.

1st (known) Logo (19??-1940?)

Logo: On a grey sunburst background is the Java Industrial Film logo, consisting of the letters "J.i.F" stacked on top of "FILM", with an eagle perched on the dot of the "i", a circle behind the eagle and the arched text "JAVA INDUSTRIAL FILM" inside the circle in a 3D font.

FX/SFX: None, it's a still logo.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: Extinct, since most of this company's filmography (and most of the Dutch East Indies' filmography overall) is considered lost. This appeared on the 1940 film Oranjefilm van Nederlandsch-Indie, which survives in the archives of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.

2nd (known) Logo (1941)

Logo: On the middle of a black background is a print version of the logo from before in white. Below the logo is "JAVA INDUSTRIAL FILM", with "BATAVIA - C. " below said company name. On top and on the bottom of the black background is the text "Vervaardigd door" and "in opdracht van den" respectively.

FX/SFX: None, it's a still logo.

Music/Sounds: TBA

Availability: Extinct. This logo appeared on two films from 1941, again surviving in the archives of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
