Background
Judgemental Films is the production company of animator/film director Mike Judge, the creator of Beavis and Butt-head and the co-creator of King of the Hill.
1st Logo (November 17, 1992)
Visuals: On a blue-green-yellow gradient background, we see the words "JUDGE" and "MENTAL" stacked on each other and in a big red balloon font (there's also a dash after "JUDGE"). Below that is the word "films!" in a black cursive font, and in a much smaller face. To the right we see an animated caricature of Mike Judge dancing (first moving his arms, then shaking his hips, and ending with slapping his backside). When he finishes, he makes a weird face resembling a smile, then goes back to staring blankly as the logo fades out.
Variants:
- There's a version of this logo that just shows judge dancing in a green oval on a blue background. This is allegedly a pencil test.
- On King of The Hill, an in-credit version is used, sharing the screen with Deedle-Dee Productions.
Technique: The animation, very similar to that of Beavis and Butt-head.
Audio: "Hop, Skip and Jump" by Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant (not to be confused with Speedy West’s solo version), alongside a slap sound effect.
Availability: Seen on original prints of the second Beavis and Butt-head pilot, "Peace, Love and Understanding".
2nd Logo (April 6, 2014-)
Visuals: On a black background, we see a multicolored square with green, white and silver lines. Next to it is the text judgmental (Misspelled as such) films.
Technique: None.
Audio: The end theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on Silicon Valley and season 9 of Beavis and Butt-Head. Also seen at the end of Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
