1st Logo (December 12, 1968)

Logo: On a dark background, with a light in the screen, after the camera pans down, we see the statue of a man sitting in a meditative position, with a pendant of flowers, and with a chisel and a parchment in its hands.

Trivia: The statue is of Thiruvalluvar, a famous Tamil poet and philosopher from the 3rd Century B.C.

Technique: The camera panning down.

Music/Sounds: Some strums of a lyra and a hit of a bell while a male voice sings.

Availability: Seen only on Ethir Neechal.


2nd Logo (October 2, 1969-June 27, 1970)

Logo: Same as the previous logo, but the background is the sky with some clouds. In addition, the statue of Thiruvalluvar from the previous logo appears in a different position, looking towards the right.

Logo: Against a smoking background, the camera pans to the same statue again but only this time, it's seemingly made out of a metal.

Technique: The smoke in the background and the panning of the camera.

5th Logo (August 15, 1975-March 24, 1978)

Logo: On a slightly less smoky background, we see the statue once again.

Logo: On a green curtain backdrop with a yellow spotlight in the middle, we see a silhouette of the same statue once again facing towards the right direction against faint rising smoke. The statue rotates 90 degrees, as a light from above reveals the entire statue, revealling that the statue has an orange shading and is on top os a pedestal.

Music/Sounds: Same as previous logos.
