Logo descriptions and captures by EnormousRat

Background: Nicholas Gaume founded Atreid Concept in 1990 in France. The company set its brand Kalisto in 1992, and joined Mindscape as a development studio soon after. In 1995 Atreid Concept was purchased by Mindscape and renamed Mindscape Bordeaux, but the founder retrieved it back next year. The company became Kalisto Entertainment until 2002, when it filled for bankruptcy.


Atreid Concept

(1990-1995)

Logo: On a grey stone plate, there are several signs: two mirrored pictures of a sail with dot, multiplied six times. The name ATREID CONCEPT is below.

FX/SFX: None, it's the still logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Kalisto

(1992-1995)

Logo: On a black background, a temple backlitted by a sun fades in. Below it, "KALISTO" comes in and flashes yellow.

FX/SFX: The fading and the flash.

Music/Sounds: A "WHOOSH" followed by a bang and a voice that says the company's name.

Availability: Seen on Pac-in-Time, Fury of the Furries and Breakline.

Mindscape Bordeaux

(1995-1996)

Logo: On a dark purple background, we the following stacked text: "A MINDSCAPE BORDEAUX PRODUCTION". The third word is written in a capital script font.

FX/SFX: None, only the fading.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Spotted on Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing.

1st Logo (September 30, 1997-2001)

Logo: We see the worn angular blue letter "k" taking the screen, with "kalisto entertainment" written over. There are many animated variants.

FX/SFX: Depending on the variant.

Music/Sounds: Depending on the variant.

Availability: Seen on Nightmare Creatures and its sequel, Dark Earth, Fifth Element and Ultim@te Race Pro.

2nd Logo (November 17, 2001)

Nicknames: "Kalisto Bear"

Logo: A bright red splash takes place and we see a yellow spot. The picture slowly fades in, showing the bear in orange sunglasses, sitting in the frame. The name is below on white form. The logo then fades in a multiple light splashes, first yellow, then purple.

FX/SFX: The red splash and fading out effects.

Music/Sounds: Loud air-flying sound followed by a muffled robot voice that says the company's name.

Availability: Seen on New York Race.
