Background

Kazé is a profilic manga and anime distributor in France, founded in 1994. The company is owned by Viz Media Europe.


1st Logo (1994-2000's)


Visuals: On a white background, there's a white-red gradient circle with "KAZE" written in a japanese paintbrush style. Below, there's a black rectangle box with "ANIMATION" in white.

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears on the company's earliest tapes. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (2000's-2009)

Visuals: A flash occurs into a grey sea, against a grey sky background. The light intensifies, until a red rectangle appears. A red ball also fades in, and while the words "KAZE" zooms out against the ball, the sea disappears with the rectangle. A lens flare can be seen on the logo.

Variant: Later releases includes a link to the Kazé website.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Few whooshing sounds, and the sound of the sea.

Availability: Seen on releases from the company at the time. [Examples?]

3rd Logo (2009-)

Visuals: On a black background, a red square stretches out. The words "KA" appear from the right side of the shape, then "ZE" from the left side. Both texts disappear from the upper and lower side of the shape, then the square compresses.

Technique: The logo forming.

Audio: A droning synth, completed with whooshes.
