The division was later renamed in 1990 to "Hearst Entertainment Productions" after parent King Features Entertainment was renamed to Hearst Entertainment.
Visuals: On a black background, a orange light glows at the bottom-left of screen. From the glow, a pinkish-orange streak swoops up and curves around clockwise forming a giant cursive "P"; the orange disappears when the "P" is formed. As the tip disappears, "KING PHOENIX ENTERTAINMENT" appears under the "P". There is an orange gradient crown that stands next to the word "KING".
Variant: A prototype version of the logo exists where the orange tip stays on when the text and the crown appear.
Technique: Cel animation.
Audio: Synthesized beeps with a whoosh when the "P" forms and ending with a synthesized fade out. An electronic "ding" sound is heard as the company name appears. Jerry Goldsmith is the composer.
Audio Variant: Sometimes, the end title theme plays over, or the logo is silent.
