Background
L.A. Hero was a joint venture between Ken Iyadomi and U.S. Renditions, established in the 1990s. In 1993, the company was purchased by Manga Entertainment and became their North American unit. When the company died out, Ken Iyadomi teamed up with Charles McCarter to found Bandai Entertainment.
1st Logo (placeholder logo) (November 11, 1992-1990s)
Visuals: On a black background, the following words in a cyan color are shown at the center of the screen:
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: Can be seen in early releases of Japanese anime from the company. Likely a placeholder of the next logo.
2nd Logo (April 21, 1993-1994?)
Visuals: On a black background, the green/gray letters of "L.A HERØ" appear floating in while looking at the top, and later the camera moves around the finished text, stopping when the words are seen at the center. The result cheaply crossfades to a red/yellow lens flare, then to the logo again, but it's a little bit closer, which zooms away a little bit to the original distance.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A peaceful synth bell fanfare ending with a synth flourish.
Availability: Seen on later releases of Japanese anime from the company. An example is Super Dimension Century ORGUSS: Volume 4.
Legacy: This logo is notorious among the logo community for its animation.
