Background
LTV, standing for Local Television, was a pirate TV station in Macroom, Cork, Ireland. The station operated from the 8th of February, 1984 until it was shut down in 1988, around the same time the gardaí were shutting down many pirate broadcasters. Two years later, it's successor, LTV 2, started in Millstreet. LTV broadcast their own programmes, and re-broadcast English channels, such as Channel 4, from it's mast when it did not have it's own content available.
