Background

Le Monde was a division of Alliance Atlantis for international sales of genre films.

1st Logo (1993-1994)

Logo: On a blue background, a silver frame flips up. Then a purple letter "L" with a circle with an "m" inside it. Below it was the text "LE MONDE" spreads up and the text "ENTERTAINMENT" fades in below the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the trailer

Availability: Very rare. Can be found on Soft Deceit and the trailer for Operation Golden Phoenix.

2nd Logo (June 10, 1994-2001)

Logo: On a black background, an "L" draws in. Then a circle with the "m" fades in behind it. Then the text "LE MONDE" stretches in and folds below the logo. Then a CGI version of the Alliance A fades in with the text "An Alliance Company" standing on the right. The logo shines.

Variants:

  • A short variant of the logo exists, as seen on trailers.
  • In 1999, the byline was changed to "An Alliance Atlantis Company"

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh, followed by a light synth chord, then a louder whoosh that culminates with a darker synth chord.

Availability: Can be found on Expect No Mercy and Black Mask, among others. The full version was also seen on the trailer for The Boys Club, which can be found on the British VHS release of Freeway from High Fliers, and was also on a Movies4Men print of Operation Golden Phoenix.
