Background

This is the original production unit of Lifetime, a network of A&E Networks. It was previously named Lifetime Productions.

1st Logo (1990-1994)

• 

Visuals: On a blue background, there are three black spots with the pre-1994 Lifetime logo inside it. Then, the text "LIFETIME" in a plain font, and the text "PRODUCTIONS" in serif wipes in, and then a black line draws in. and a square later draws.

Variant: Sometimes, a copyright notice appears below.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Most of Lifetime's programs have not been preserved, but it was seen on the 1991 TV special Retaining Laughter.

2nd Logo (1994-1998)

Visuals: On a brown background, there is a box with several filmreels and gears that move inside. Pieces of the invisible "LIFETIME" text appear, while the serif text "Lifetime" spreads out, and settles to the bottom. The text flashes, and the text "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH" and "PRODUCTIONS, INC." fades in below the logo, and the box of the filmreels then flashes.

Variants:

• A short version exists.
• Another short version exists where the logo is already formed, and the "Lifetime" letters spread out.
• Sometimes, a copyright date is shown below the logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: None or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Most of Lifetime's programs have never been reran, nor been on home media. It was seen on Lifetime shows and specials, like Debt and Intimate Portrait.

3rd Logo (1998-2000)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a white box with a female black girl that looks around, and then it cuts to a girl with the Lifetime logo from before blurring in, and the slogan "Television for Women" in gold serif blurs in below the logo. A copyright date is usually shown below the logo.

Variant: A short version exists.

Technique: A mix of computer animation and live-action.

Audio: None or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Can be seen on Intimate Portrait, among others.

4th Logo (2000-2004)

Visuals: On an aqua background, there is a hand pulling out the Lifetime logo on a tape. Once the hand finishes pulling it out, the text "Produced in association with Lifetime Television for Women" appears, along with a copyright date.

Variant: Sometimes, the text is in a different font.

Technique: A mix of computer animation and live-action by Imaginary Forces.

Audio: An electronic synth drone. Sometimes, a saxophone theme is heard, none or having the end theme playing over it.

Availability: Can be seen on old Lifetime programs from the era, such as Intimate Portrait. It was intact on streaming prints of Wild Card.

5th Logo (2004-July 2006)

Visuals: Over a white background, one yellow and two blue squares slide over a white Lifetime logo, with the text "Produced in association with Lifetime Television for Women." below.

Variant: Sometimes, a copyright date is shown below the logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A chime sound, or the end theme of the show. When DejaView reran episodes of Wild Card, the audio of the previous logo plays over it.

Availability: Most of Lifetime's programs have not been rerun, nor been on home media. Can be seen on any specials or shows from the era, such as the 2004 version of Queen for a Day and reruns of Wild Card on DejaView.

6th Logo (July 2006-July 2008)

Visuals: On a red background, there is a refined version of the Lifetime logo from the last logos, only this time, the serif pointers have been removed. The text "produced in association with lifetime television" then drops down.

Variant: Sometimes, a copyright notice appears below the logo.

Technique: 2D animation by Imaginary Forces.

Audio: None, or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Most of Lifetime's programs have not been rerun, nor been on home media. Can be seen on Gay, Straight or Taken, among others.

7th Logo (July 2008-2011)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a white plane-like object that moves over to reveal the text "Lifetime" in a script font, and the text "Produced in association with Lifetime Television" wipes in, as it moves over on a red ribbon with some colorful dots behind the logo.

Variants:

• A prototype version of the logo exists, where the Lifetime logo is darker, and the text is in one line.
• Sometimes, the text reads "Studios" or "Pictures" next to it.
• Sometimes, a copyright notice is shown below the logo.

Audio: A chime, and then a wind blowing. Sometimes, the end theme plays over it.

Availability: Can be seen on several Lifetime programs from the era, such as Project Runway.

8th Logo (2011-May 2012)

Visuals: Over a teal gradient background is the Lifetime logo from the previous logo in aqua. The text "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH LIFETIME TELEVISION" wipes in below the logo.

Technique: CGI by Trollbäck+Company.

Audio: A synth drone.

Availability: It's seen on several episodes of Project Runway from the era, as well as other Lifetime shows.

9th Logo (May 2012-May 2013)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a red circle with a black "L", and the word "lifetime" in red zooms out. Then the serif text "this has been a presentation of lifetime" slides in below the logo.

Technique: 2D animation by Leroy & Clarkson and Loyalkaspar.

Audio: A synth, followed by a piano-like harp.

Availability: Can be seen on episodes of Project Runway, as well as Lifetime originals from the era.

10th Logo (May 2013-February 2017)

Visuals: There is a camera, and then a zoom-out to reveal the Lifetime logo from the last logo on a grey spotlight, except the "L" is in caps and the wordmark was given a slightly different font. The text "This has been a presentation of Lifetime" in red fades in below the logo.

Technique: CGI by Troika Design Group.

Audio: A clap, followed by a 6-note whistle-like theme. Composed by Mekanical. Sometimes, the end theme plays over it.

Availability: Seen on later episodes of Project Runway, as well as several Lifetime series and movies from the era.

11th Logo (February 2017-February 2020)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a red dot that draws a circle. The word "LIFE" and "TIME" rises in, and the text "THIS HAS BEEN A PRESENTATION OF LIFETIME" fades in below the logo.

Technique: 2D animation by Primal Screen.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on the last Lifetime-era episodes of Project Runway, as well as several TV movies and shows from the era.

12th Logo (February 2020-)

Visuals: Over a blue gradient background is pieces of the Lifetime logo, looking like the 1994 logo, but refined, drawing in. The logo wipes in to fill out the color white.

Variant: Sometimes, the text "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" is shown above the logo.

Audio: None or the end theme of the show.
