Background
Lightspan Adventures were a series of PlayStation games that were only sold available in schools. The company's known series include Mars Moose, K9.5, KazMania, and Timeless Math.
1st Logo (1996-1998)
Visuals: On a white background, there is a purple lightning bolt where the inside of it changes patterns. The word "LIGHTSPAN" is on the bottom. The bolt then flies off and the background changes to sky blue. The bolt flies to the left, then to the right, and stops in the middle, spinning in a loop. Finally, a black line appears as the bolt then flies into it. The background changes to orange and a disc rises out. The bolt then bounces around with puddle effects, and then flies off to the right, transitioning to black.
Technique: 2D animation.
Audio: A rumble sound when the logo is shown, along with several cartoon sounds.
Availability: Seen on several games made by Lightspan. Examples include the first three K9.5 games: "Live in Airedale", "We Are the Dogs!", and "WebTunes".
2nd Logo (1998-2000?)
Visuals: On a white background, there is the lightning bolt from the previous logo, however, the entire bolt is changing patterns. The text "LIGHTSPAN" in lowercase, and the smaller word "ADVENTURES" is seen below the bolt. The bolt then flies off, carrying the letters. The bolt then pushes the back of a purple shiny disc three times, before the disc goes flat, revealing the front cover. The bolt then bounces up and down while the disc spins very fast. The bolt then spins as well and flies off the disc transitioning to black.
Technique: Cel-shaded animation.
Audio: A rumble sound when the logo is shown, along with several cartoon sounds.
Availability: Seen on several games made by Lightspan. Examples include the last two K9.5 games: "The Tail-Wag Tour" and "The Howlywood Premiere".
