Background

LuckyChap Entertainment was founded in 2014 by Australian actress and film producer Margot Robbie and her husband Tom Ackerley, alongside Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr.

Margot Robbie says she came up with the name while drinking with some friends, but all she can remember is discussing actor Charlie Chaplin.

Logo (December 8, 2017-)

Visuals: The cursive name "LuckyChap" is seen as a neon sign as pink lights fill up the words, unveiling a brick background with an rectangular outline surrounding it. Once the word is filled, the text flashes a few times before the whole sign, including "ENTERTAINMENT" underneath, lights up.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • On Dollface and Mike, the logo shares the screen with the Clubhouse Pictures logo. The latter has the logo inside a light brown rectangle.
  • On Maid, the sign is against a black background.

Technique: Photorealistic computer animation.

Audio: None or the opening/closing theme of the movie/TV show.

Availability: Debuted (as a still logo) at the end of I, Tonya and later appeared on Terminal (the debut of the animated logo), Dreamland, Promising Young Woman, My Old Ass, Dollface and Mike on Hulu, and Maid on Netflix. Some films, such as Birds of Prey (2020), Boston Strangler, Barbie (2023), and Saltburn, have no logo.
