Background
Ludorum was a British studio and media investment company founded in 2005 by former HIT Entertainment CEO Rob Lawes and former Learning Curve CEO Dick Rockhopft. The studio's first, and only production was Chuggington, which debuted in 2008. The company was also responsible for managing Dennis and Gnasher and Marvo the Wonder Chicken franchises on behalf of DC Thomson & Co., the owner of the Beano magazine. Aside from that, the company produced a number of Chuggington-related spin-offs such as Badge Quest and Little Trainees.
During Chuggington<nowiki>'s later years, the company terminated its contract with its toy licensee Tomy, which led to the appointment of Jazwares as a replacement and the production of Little Trainees. As a result of the failures of Little Trainees and the Jazzwares agreement, Fuji Television (the show's Japanese broadcaster) purchased the rights to the franchise in Japan from Ludorum in 2017, followed by a sale of the franchise to Herschend Studios a year later, which began production on a sixth season (titled Tales from the Rails) as well as Discover Chuggington: All Aboard!. After that, Ludorum was put into liquidation and shuttered itself in 2019.
Logo (September 22, 2008-December 29, 2018)
Visuals: On a dark starry sky background, an orange ball with a hole carved out atop of it drops down from the sky and bounces before it stops as it locks in place. Then, the text "a ludorum production" with the words "ludorum" in orange, appears from the right with a line fading in below the wordmark. After that, copyright information fades at the bottom of the logo in white.
Variants:
- The animated logo appears in-credit on Chuggington: Badge Quest.
- A still version on a white background exists.
- Other still versions exist with the logo in a white rectangle (sometimes with round corners) and on a black or blue background.
- The still logo can be found placed next to the Budge Studios logo on Budge Studios' Chuggington apps/games.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on Chuggington. and its spin-off Chuggington: Badge Quest as well as some Chuggington DVDs/VCDs and apps/games, such as Ready to Build.
