Background

Lynch/Frost Productions was a production company that was founded by cult filmmakers David Lynch and Mark Frost, creators and executive producers of Twin Peaks.

1st Logo (April 8, 1990)

Logo: On a black background we see the text "LYNCH/FROST" in white above "PRODUCTIONS" also in white, all in an army-style cut-out font.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Just some electric zapping.

Availability: Ultra rare. It's only seen on the original pilot of Twin Peaks, which is currently on DVD and on Netflix. The international version (and the Artisan DVD) has the next logo.

Legacy: A boring logo, considering a simple text juxtaposed on a black background and a zapping sounds.

2nd Logo (September 30, 1990-July 4, 1992, May 21-September 3, 2017)

Nicknames: "The Rack Logo", "The Shocking Rack", "The Twin Peaks Rack", "That Logo from Twin Peaks"

Logo: There's a massive short circuit somewhere in the logo as we see two racks (what they appear to be) that are placed one above the other. The top has the words "LYNCH/FROST" and the bottom has the word "PRODUCTIONS" below. Meanwhile, electricity zaps, lights go on and off in different sides and corners, and two metallic circles appear randomly behind the racks.

Variant: On episode 8 of the 2017 Twin Peaks reboot, the logo is in black and white to fit with the episode's theme.

FX/SFX: The electricity sizzling, the random lights switching on and off, and the circles appearing. This is all done in (purposely) crude stop-motion animation.

Music/Sounds: An extended version of the electric sizzling from the previous logo.

Availability: Can be seen on DVD releases and reruns of both the original and the 2017 reboot of Twin Peaks. Was also seen on On the Air.

Legacy: This is a well-memorable logo for those who have watched Twin Peaks.
