Background

Művész Film was founded in 1913 by Ernő Horovitz as a production and distribution company initially under the name Művészfilm Kölcsönző Vállalat, which then became a limited company in 1937. In October of 1941, the company was liquidated, but its operations were resumed in 1945 until nationalization.[1]
