'''Technique:''' Not too bad cel animation for the 70's, but it is pretty dated through the progress of its lifetime.

Background

Mushir-Riaz Productions (also known as M.R. Productions) was an Indian film production studio founded by Mushir-Riaz, a production shingle from fellow producers Musheer Alam and Rajkumar Barjayta. This company operated between the 70s and 80s.

1st Logo (1970-1986)

Logo: On a blue background, we see a multicolored "star" sending it's lights changing color very rapidly. The star zooms out to unveil a gold-to-orange paper background. Then, two silhouettes of bricks zoom in diagonally from their direction, clashing into each other too soon and then reveals themselves as the abstract letters "MR" in color yellow, with it's shadow still being black. On the bottom of it, we see the text "PRODUCTIONS" on a red-black Microgramma font appears one by one.

Variant: On Mehboobha, the text "PRIVATE LIMITED" in red wipes in below the word "PRODUCTIONS".

Technique: Cel animation.

Music/Sounds: A soft tampura with low-pitched xylophones and some high-pitched bells at the begginning, and then we hear a dramatic violin solo along with trumpets and if you listen closely you can hear also a group of women singing.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On Apne Paraye, the theme has it lower-pitched.
  • On Zabardast, half of the violin solo is cut-off.

Availability: Uncommon. Not counting the films mentioned in the Variants and Music/Sounds section, this was also seen on Bairaag, Rajput, Safar and Samundar.

2nd Logo (May 30, 1997)

The star than turns into a CGI 7-pointed star which shines. The "MR" text wipes in, and the word "PRODUCTIONS" with the word "PVT.LTD" sliding in.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme.

Availability: Rare. This was only seen on Virasat.
