Background

In the 1980s and '90s, LaserDisc releases from what was then known as MGM/UA Home Video would use the bumper described below at both ends of each side.

Bumper (1980s-1990s)

Visuals: A still image of the 1st MGM/UA Home Video logo, except with "HOME VIDEO" blacked out and replaced with "SIDE ONE" or "SIDE TWO". When used at the end, the words at the bottom would be "END SIDE ONE" or "END SIDE TWO".

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on MGM/UA LaserDisc releases. Examples include The Golden Age of Looney Tunes series, The Last Waltz, and Goldfinger, among others.
