Background
MGM Children's Matinees were a series of vintage MGM family films that were re-released to theatres between 1970 and 1972. As the name implies, they were shown only as matinees, usually just before the showing of the main feature which happened to be playing at the theatre at that time.
(1970-1971)
Logo: On a light blue background is a rectangle with a blue border. On the left is a small yellow rectangle. On top is a circle with Leo with "MGM" below in blue (it is most likely supposed to be the 1966 abstract lion logo). Aside the lion is:
CHiLDREN'S
MATiNEES
in yellow and in the Peignot font. The lion roars once.
Technique: Live-action.
Music/Sounds: The first roar from the 1960 roar track.
Availability: Seen on re-issue trailers of MGM movies from the timeframe such as the 1970 re-issue trailer of The Wizard of Oz.
