Background

MGN Paradise, also known as Paradise Group, Paradise Digital and MGN, is one of the oldest home video distributors in Russia and CIS. It was originally founded in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1991, and later moved to Moscow. In 1995 Paradise opened an office in Los Angeles. It also has a film production division.

1st logo (December 30, 2004-August 17, 2014)

Visuals: There is the word coming from beyond the planet, like the Universal logo, but the action is faster and the objects are silver. The planet slowly zooms out, while the text "ПЦП ПАРАДИЗ" continues to swirl around. Suddenly the borders appear around the planet making it looks like an eye. Four more borders then appear in each side. Then "ПЦП" and "ПАРАДИЗ" in another font compress and place themselves above and below the logo respectively.

Variants:

  • On a variant of the logo, the words are "MGN" and "PARADISE". "DIGITAL" later appears below "PARADISE".
  • In 2008, the logo was enhanced and remade: the CGI was improved, the glow behind the planet looks different and the font of "ПАРАДИЗ" has changed (the "ПЦП" part was removed).
  • On another variant of the logo, "DIGITAL" appears above the logo together with "ПАРАДИЗ".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Ominous humming sounds.

Availability: Seen on their film output and their TV programs of the time. [Examples?] It was also used as a de-facto home video logo on their DVDs and Blu-rays. The logo was debuted on Слушатель (The Listener) (2004), and the 2008 enhanced variant was first seen on Монтана (Montana) (2008).

2nd logo (November 20, 2008; August 9, 2012)

Visuals: On a black background, a white rectangle appears. After that, 4 more rectangles appear and they form a square. Then, there is a silhouette of a man and a woman. A yellow circle appears above their hands. The silhouette stops shaking, zooms in and disappers. The yellow circle turns black and the rest of the Paradise logo wipes in. "PARADISE" (set in the Eras Bold font) blurs in below.

Variant: On От винта 3D, the final result of the logo simply blurs in.

Technique: 2D animation done by the On3D motion graphics studio.

Audio: Whoosh sounds are heard when the rectangle appears and when the logo wipes in. A synthesized humming sound is also heard in the background.

Availability: Only seen on Платон (Plato) (2008) and От винта 3D (2012; released in the USA as Wings).

3rd logo (July 5, 2012; January 1, 2016-)

Visuals: On a black background with a white spotlight is the same eye logo as below, but with "ПАРАДИЗ" in a different font. The logo slowly zooms in.

Variants:

  • On the trailer to От винта 3D, the logo is outlined, the text is taller and the background has a blue light behind the logo.
  • Starting with All Our Hope (2016), the logo lacks the spotlight.
  • The logo is in yellow and is placed on a blue background on some of their recent trailers.
  • On От винта 2, the logo is red (with a gold outline) and is placed on a dark-red background. The logo also shines.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A whoosh with a thud.

Availability: It was first seen on the trailer to От винта 3D, but it didn't debut on their main movie output until Богатырша (2016). It's also seen on their recent trailers uploaded to their YouTube channel.
