Revision as of 15:47, 3 February 2023

1st Logo (1986-1989)

Logo: On a transparent light-grey background, three interlocking circles fade in, then a white rectangle with a black border, as well as three red dots on the rings, fade in (forming an atom), and finally, the text "M.S.D VIDEO", coloured red, fades in, with "M.S.D" on top, and "VIDEO" below.

Technique: The parts of the logo fading in. Very cheap animation, looking more like a iMovie slideshow.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant synthesiser fanfare.

Availability:

  • Appears on some UK VHS releases of Cannon releases from Guild Home Video, as well as pre-Abbey Tempo Video releases such as The Adventures of Spot and the 1988 UK VHS release of Starcom: 3 Episodes, among others.
  • It also appears on the 1988 UK VHS release of The Shoe People: P.C Boot to the Rescue and the 1989 UK VHS release of Introducing Diplodo, respectively as well.

2nd Logo (1988-1989)

Logo: On a blue/white gradient background, 3 spinning rings, each with a red dot on them, fly in and interlock with each other. The rings then rotate as the spheres continue to spin, all while a silver rectangle zooms in and "MSD" and "VIDEO" drop in one by one, all in the same placement and font as before. The sphere then position themselves into the same atom as before.

Technique: Early CGI, but a massive improvement over the 1st logo.

Music/Sounds: A bombastic synthesiser fanfare.

Availability:

  • Same as before.
  • It also appears on the 1989 UK VHS releases of Babar: Babar's First Step, Mad Scientist and The Herbs: Four Timeless Stories, respectively as well.
  • It also appears on the Huxley Pig UK VHS releases of Here Comes Huxley Pig and The Adventures of Huxley Pig, both of which were released in 1989, respectively.
