1st Logo (1986-1988)

Logo: On a transparent light-gray background, three interlocking circles fade in, then a white rectangle with a black border, as well as three red dots on the rings, fade in (forming an atom), and finally, the text "M.S.D VIDEO", colored red, fades in, with "M.S.D" on top, and "VIDEO" below.

Technique: The parts of the logo fading in. Very cheap animation, looking more like a iMovie slideshow.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant synthesizer fanfare.

Availability: On some UK PAL VHS's of Cannon releases from Guild Home Video, as well as pre-Abbey Tempo Video releases.

2nd Logo (1988-1989)

Logo: On a blue/white gradient background, 3 spinning rings, each with a red dot on them, fly in and interlock with each other. The rings then rotate as the spheres continue to spin, all while a silver rectangle zooms in and "MSD" and "VIDEO" drop in one by one, all in the same placement and font as before. The sphere then position themselves into the same atom as before.

Technique: Early CGI, but a massive improvement over the 1st logo.

Music/Sounds: A bombastic synthesizer fanfare.

Availability:

  • Same as before.
  • It also appears on the 1989 UK VHS release of Babar: Babar's First Step as well.
