Background
MTV Interactive was used as an announcer card for games based on MTV-owned licensees. In 2007, MTV relaunched its gaming division as MTV Games. In 2011, the company closed.
1st Logo (1998)
Logo: On a white background, we see the standard MTV logo from the era, with the word "INTERACTIVE" below.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Only seen on the Game Boy version of Beavis and Butt-Head.
Editor's Note: None.
2nd Logo (1998-2002)
Nicknames: "MTV Machine", "MTV Laboratory", "MTV Lab", "Metal MTV"
Logo: On a black background with a silver sparkle, we see a metal, CGI version of the MTV logo with "MUSIC TELEVISION" below it. Suddenly, a hand holds the MTV logo, causing the background turns black and the words "MUSIC TELEVISION" disappear, and then the background turns into a blue light with a red light in it, and the word "INTERACTIVE" in black (outlined in yellowish orange) appears below.
FX/SFX: Good CGI animation.
Music/Sounds: The sound effects including a metal stomp and lab effects.
Availability: Common, can be seen on some MTV-licensed video games like Beavis and Butt-head Do U and MTV Sports: Pure Ride for the PS1.
Editor's Note: None.
3rd Logo (2000)
Logo: On a black background, we see a periwinkle MTV logo, with "TV" in yellow, inside a green circle with a yellow outline.
FX/SFX: Just the logo fading in and out.
Music/Sounds: A brief rock tune and a cheering crowd, and Daria's sister Quinn (voiced by Wendy Hoopes) saying "This isn't just for geeks!".
Availability: Seen only on Daria's Inferno.
Editor's Note: TBA
4th Logo (2007-2011)
Nickname: "MTV Circle"
Logo: On a black background, many green circles come into the screen, surrounding the pre-2010 MTV logo, then "GAMES" is written below. The circles unravel and zoom out.
Variant: On Rock Band for PS2, the logo is still and silent.
FX/SFX: Rather simple circles animation.
Music/Sounds: A quiet voice saying "MTV Games".
Music/Sounds Variant: Sometimes there is a short beating soundtrack and the name is said with a loud shout.
Availability: Seen on the Rock Band series. The sound variant appeared on Pimp My Ride, including the Nintendo DS port. The still white logo appeared on Jackass: The Game.
Editor's Note: None.
