1st Logo (1998)
Logo: On a white background, we see the standard MTV logo from the era, with the word "INTERACTIVE" below.
Technique: None.
Audio: None.
Availability: Only seen on the Game Boy version of Beavis and Butt-Head.
2nd Logo (1998-2002)
Logo: On a black background with a silver sparkle, we see a metal, CGI version of the MTV logo with "MUSIC TELEVISION" below it. Suddenly, a hand holds the MTV logo, causing the background to turn black and the words "MUSIC TELEVISION" disappear, and then the background turns into a blue light with a red light in it, and the word "INTERACTIVE" in black (outlined in yellowish orange) appears below.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The sound effects including a metal stomp and lab effects.
Availability: Can be seen on some MTV-licensed video games like Beavis and Butt-head Do U and MTV Sports: Pure Ride for the PS1. It also appears on GBC games from the company, still and bit-crushed.
3rd Logo (Late 2000)
Logo: On a black background, we see a periwinkle MTV logo, with "TV" in gold, inside a green circle with a gold outline.
Technique: Simple computer effects.
Audio: A brief rock tune and a cheering crowd, and Daria's sister Quinn (voiced by Wendy Hoopes) saying "It isn't just for geeks!".
Availability: Seen only on Daria's Inferno.
4th Logo (November 21, 2006-October 26, 2010)
Logo: On a black background, many green circles come into the screen, surrounding the pre-2010 MTV logo, then "GAMES" is written below. The circles unravel and zoom out.
Variants:
- On Rock Band for PS2, the logo is still and silent.
- Another variant had a white version of the logo. Again, it is still and silent.
Technique: Rather simple animation.
Audio: A quiet voice saying "MTV Games".
Audio Variant: Sometimes, there is a short beating soundtrack and the name is said with a loud shout.
Availability: Seen on the Rock Band series. The sound variant appeared on Pimp My Ride, including the Nintendo DS port. The still white logo appeared on Jackass: The Game.
