IFH LOGO
Background
Majestic Films International was a British film sales company founded in the late-1980s by producer Guy East. It handled overseas distribution of films such as Driving Miss Daisy and Dances with Wolves internationally.
(1990?-mid-1990s)
Nickname: "The Mattel Look-a-like Logo"
Logo: On a black background, we see a red starburst move into view from the bottom of the screen. In the center of the starburst is an M-shaped crown with a star on top. The words "MAJESTIC" and "FILMS" appear on either side of the crown. The star shines a few times.
Variant: A version featured in the end credits of some films features the words "Majestic Films" and "International" on either side of the starburst.
FX/SFX: Simple animation.
Music/Sounds: Usually silent, or the films opening theme.
Availability: Extremely rare in the U.S, but uncommon in European territories. The easiest place to find this logo is on the European video releases and Region 2 and 4 DVDs of Dances with Wolves, along with the Japanese MUSE Laserdisc release. Also appears on Region 2 and 4 releases of The Princess and the Cobbler, Immortal Beloved, the British DVD and Brazilian VHS of The Nutcracker Prince, and the German Kinowelt DVD & Blu-Ray of Texasville (including the R2 Spain DVD release and the Spanish trailer). The in-credit variants are seen on Dances with Wolves and City of Joy. It was also spotted on the Vestron Video VHS of Get Back (the Paul McCartney concert film).
