Background

In 1949, Shaw Brothers produced Malay-language films under the Singapore-based studio Malay Film Productions which lasted until 1967. Despite being based in Singapore, its films are usually released in Malaysia.

1st Logo (1950's)

Logo: On a tunnel-like background, we see the Shaw Brothers logo. The squares on the lights turning black and white is extended. The company name is below.

FX/SFX: The squares on the lights turning black and white, a la Sampaguita Pictures logo.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant military fanfare.

Availability: Seen on their films of the time.

2nd Logo (1950's)


Logo: On a black rainy background, the Shaw Brothers logo zooms to the screen. Not long after, it then fades out. Later, the same shield and the words "MALAY FILM PRODUCTIONS LTD. presents" rapidly fall in from the bottom left corner.

FX/SFX: The logo zooming in and fading.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Seen on some films such as Pendekar bujang lapok.
