Background

Malibu Games was a short-lived subsidiary of THQ, which published and developed games mainly for Game Boy and SNES.

(1993-1995)

Logo: We see a marble square box with a pack of curved lines, which resemble a wave. The name "MALIBU GAMES" is written below in two lines with "GAMES" slightly smaller and spaced out to fit the width of "MALIBU" in a brown stone-colored font. The shine moves at the wave.

Variants:

  • On Sports Illustrated Championship Football & Baseball, the background is covered with repeating title tiles.
  • On Family Dog for SNES, the copyright info takes the screen with the logo compressed to the top. It also has the background full blue.
  • Sometimes, the logo appears very dark.

Technique: Sprite-based animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on SeaQuest DSV, Time Trax, Total Carnage and other games.
