(1962-1974)
Logo: On a black background, a white Maltese cross is seen, which is effectively four white delta shapes pointed at each other at the tips, before the deltas rotate and form a diamond shape. The text "mtv" writes by itself and the logo remains static for several seconds before playing in reverse and then stopping for a while. All but the left delta becomes transparent, then an eye shape is formed and lastly the full name of the company "malta television service" in a stacked format fades in on the right.
Technique: Basic rotating, writing, and fading effects.
Music/Sounds: A proud and whimsical bombastic fanfare.
Availability: Extinct.
