Background

This is Phoef Sutton's vanity card. It was briefly known as "Mauretania, Inc.".

Mauretania, Inc.

(August 2, 1999)

Logo: Against a blue-gray gradient background, the text "MAURETANIA, INC." blurs in. "in association with" fades in below.

FX/SFX: The text blurring.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme. CBS airings used a generic theme and a voiceover.

Availability: Seen on a pilot episode of Thanks.

Legacy: This appears to be a placeholder for the next logo.

Mauretania Productions

1st Logo (August 9, 1999-May 15, 2001)

Nicknames: "The Globe", "Gold Globe", "Mauretania Globe"

Logo: Against a white suitcase with red lines (resembling that of the USA flag) with a gold sky on it, a sign saying "MAURETANIA" in an art-deco font with a gold globe above it rotates and zooms out to position as "PRODUCTIONS" then fades in with a line below it.

FX/SFX: The sign zooming and rotating.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme. CBS and NBC airings used a generic theme and a voiceover.

Availability: Seen on later episodes of Thanks (starting with the second episode) and The Fighting Fitzgeralds.

2nd Logo (September 25-October 23, 2003)

Logo: Against a blue-gray gradient background, the stacked text "Mauretania Productions" in a bold font wipes in from the right.

FX/SFX: The text wiping.

Music/Sounds: Just the sound of a foghorn. NBC airings used a generic theme and a voiceover.

Music/Sounds Trivia: This sound is called "Sound Ideas, SHIP, HORN - SHIPS HORN, 1 LONG BLAST, CLOSE, ALARM, DIGIFFECTS", which can be found from Sound Ideas' Transport Sound Effects by Digiffects - Series D.

Availability: Seen on the American version of Coupling.

Legacy: It's pretty much a downgrade from the previous logo. Not much to say.
