Background
Metro3D, formerly Metropolis Digital, Inc. was a game publisher and developer based in San Jose, California. They also operated a European branch, which would get acquired by Data Design Interactive.
1st Logo (1999-March 26, 2004)

Visuals: The camera pans past a metal beam, revealing molten metal being poured into a mold shaped like a stylized "M". Two hanging chains are seen swaying throughout. It then crossfades to a white background, with the "M" in silver gradient and "Metro3D" appearing below.
Variants:
- A still version is used on handheld titles.
- On Armada: FX Racers the logo is on a green background.
- On The Three Stooges for the Game Boy Advance the logo is seen during the game's intro on a billboard, along with the logos for Cinemaware and Crawfish Interactive.
- Some games feature a smaller "M" on a black background, with "Metro 3D, Inc." in front of it in white.
Technique: 3D animation.
Audio: A somber synth note, sustained throughout the logo, with a choir heard toward the end.
Availability: Appeared on titles such as Smash Cars and Stake: Fortune Fighters. Its last known appearance was on the European release of R-Type Final.

The "3" separates from the "D" and moves to the left, while turning 90 degrees and becoming a lowercase "m". The laser also pulls out and moves along with the "m" forming the letters "etro". The laser disappears and forms a small explosion soon after.
Variant: A still version exists, with the end product on a solid white background.
Technique: 3D animation.
Audio: A techno theme. When the company text is formed a snippet of "Heavy Duty Motors (With Circuit Breakers Closing)" by Audio Fidelity is heard.
Availability: Appeared on Data Design Interactive titles for the PlayStation 2 and PC, Billy the Wizard: Rocket Broomstick Racing and Anubis II being examples. Also appeared on the PS2 version of Ex Zeus.
