Background

MF Productions was the vanity label of executive producer Michael Filerman, which this company has worked on are the 1980-1982 NBC series Flamingo Road and co-produced Falcon Crest with Amanda Productions (known for The Waltons) as Amanda & MF Productions. By 1985, Michael Filerman joined up with Roundelay Productions (known for Knots Landing) to form Roundelay-MF Productions. All productions from the company were also co-produced with Lorimar Productions.

1st Logo (May 12, 1980)

Logo: Just in-credit text that says "A MF PRODUCTION" and under it in smaller letters "In Association with" (both in Peignot font).

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the movie.

Availability: Only seen in the 1980 TV pilot movie Flamingo Road.

2nd Logo (January 6, 1981-May 4, 1982?)

Nicknames: "MF", "Neon Sign", "Glow in the Dark Sign"

Logo: In a black background, there's a stylized "MF" in yellow-green neon lettering with the text "AN MF PRODUCTION IN ASSOCIATION WITH" under it.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Extinct. This was only seen in the 1981-1982 TV series Flamingo Road, which was last rerun on the Goodlife TV Network (currently YouToo America) from 2003 to 2004.

Final Note

In 1985, when Michael Filerman joined Roundelay Productions, the "MF" from the 2nd logo was added to Roundelay's logo.
