Background

Mighty Aphrodite Pictures is an American independent film company founded by Jorge Xolalpa Jr. in 2014.

1st Logo (February 27, 2016)

Logo: A large "M" glows up and the company name, in a stacked format and with "MIGHTY APHRODITE" in FFD Neuland Inline, wipes in from the left. In between them, a tan line fades in. Also happening simultaneously is the burgundy background fading in and slightly dimming. After a few seconds, the "M" fades away and the company name wipes out.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A suspenseful, rising violin track with bass notes at the beginning.

Availability: Only seen on a video from the company titled "Mighty Aphrodite Pictures (2016)".

2nd Logo (February 29, 2016)

Logo: On a black background, the logo from before is seen with a VHS effect and against a white glow behind it. In between the "M" and company name is a thin, disappearing white line.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: An excerpt of "L'Ultima Diligenza Di Red Rock" by Ennio Morricone, best known as the intro soundtrack to The Hateful Eight.

Availability: Seen on the second video from the company titled "Mighty Aphrodite Pictures (2016)".

3rd Logo (February 29, 2016)

Logo: On a black background, a neon version of the previous logo is shown. "PICTURES" is in a serif font. Three blue, grided, and disappearing bars overlap the logo and text, aligning to the top and bottom of the neon lights. Like the previous logo, it has a VHS effect to it albeit more shaky.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A fast-paced, string soundtrack.

Availability: Seen on the third video from the company titled "Mighty Aphrodite Pictures (2016)".

4th Logo (December 16, 2016)

Logo: On a white background, a black paint droplet falls and creates multiple splatters on the screen. Several more splotches are formed around the mess until a paint stroke is drawn from the center splat, moving downward and creating another array of splatters. The camera zooms past the set of smears and follow a paint stroke moving in a zig-zag direction. When it stops, it creates a relatively large set of splotches. The camera pans down to follow three falling paint smears and reaches to the droplets. They are all released and creates a large splat behind the company name with "Mighty Aphrodite" in Engravers' Old English BT and "PICTURES" in Times New Roman.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The same music from the 1st logo, although the violin comes in later.

Availability: Only seen on Blue Line Station.

5th Logo (February 9, 2017)

Logo: Same concept as the previous logos but with a different logo design: the "M" has a white outline, no fill, and is 3D. The company name also has no fill and a white outline with the addition of a white glow. The VHS effect gives the logo a purple-blue glow and has it briefly flash at random times. Plus, transparent white shapes are seen absorbing portions of the logo while still flashing.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the series.

Availability: Only seen on Strangelove.

6th Logo (October 6, 2018-July 15, 2019)

Logo: On a white background, an altered version of the logo from the 1st logo is shown with the company name split in two different fonts: Times New Roman and Impact, the latter of which is used for "PICTURES". The logo is against a distorted, wavy texture consisting of fly-like objects.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the film.

Availability: Seen on Sweet Caroline and #SORRYNOTSORRY.

7th Logo (January 23, 2020)

Logo: The 1st Prism Entertainment plays albeit with a distorted VHS effect. When the second to last line passes the prism, the section underneath the triangle is blacked out and replaced with the company name in an adventure-like font.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1st Prism Entertainment logo.

Availability: Only seen on Your Iron Lady.
