* October 16th, 2001-February 12th, 2002: Originally, it has the sound of a bottle breaking.
* February 26th, 2002-May 21st, 2002: An 3-note odd, short piano tune, accompanied by an eerie, distorted chorus.
* September 24th, 2002-November 10th, 2011: As the music variant, it started using an 13-note, reverberating, less-scary cathedral organ ditty, accompanied by an 7-note instrumental tune before the last note.
'''Music/Sounds Variants:'''
* On the episodes "X-Ray" and "Hug" of the 1st season of ''Smallville'', the bottle breaking sound is omitted.
* On the early episodes of the 2nd season of ''Smallville'', the cathedral organ ditty is somewhat slightly quieter before the bottle breaking sound appears.
* Some original airings (eg. The CW) use a generic theme and a voice over.
* On the episode "Arrival" of the 5th season of ''Smallville'', the last note and the bottle breaking sounds are synced due to several reasons.
